Newmarket Academy Library

Wincer Kievenaar Architects

Newmarket Academy Library, designed by Wincer Kievenaar Architects. Built by SEH French Construction, the double height first floor library space sits within the tree canopies, and can be subdivided with moving partitions. A large feature staircase provides a multi functional auditorium for lectures or informal seating. The structurally exposed steel frame and columns avoid the need for internal columns and give the building a distinctive appearance, acting as a new hub for the academy. The structural design was provided by SuperStructures and M&E by Williams Holloway Associates.
