Ashworth Parkes Architects were commissioned to design a rear extension and loft conversion for this compact mid-terraced house in central Cambridge.

In order to maximise the available floor space, a new kitchen and dining area were built on the rear of the narrow plot, with an ingenious butterfly roof to enable light to penetrate deep into the plan.

Bespoke storage and clever packaging of the new rooms has enabled a huge increase in usable space. A new master suite enjoys views out over the rooftops from it's own bi-fold windows.
